Hello ;

I cannot access the video that I screen recorded at the meeting called MRP Study dated 15-12-2023. When I try to access the video via stream even though the video's expiration date has been turned off, I get the error "This document cannot be accessed. Contact the user who shared it." I would like your support so that I can access the video again.

Kind Regrarts

    I am sorry, zeynep. I am a user of Microsoft product, so I don't have access to your account or data. This place is Microsoft users community forum not Microsoft support page. I and other experts in the community will try our best to assist you to the best of our knowledge. From my findings, as of early 2021, Teams meeting recordings are no longer saved to Microsoft Stream. All meeting recordings are now saved to OneDrive and SharePoint. Read this article to understand better: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/play-share-and-download-a-meeting-recording-in-microsoft-teams-7d7e5dc5-9ae4-4b94-8589-27496037e8fa Kindly look for the recording in your OneDrive account and let me know if you are able to access it from there. Thanks for your patience. Rita.

    Hi,

    I arranged a MS Team meeting (series) that is set to auto-record. I was away on holidays, but the meeting(s) took place and they were auto recorded. Now although I see them in MS Teams (in the chat) I can't access them and I see the exact same error as this person above.

    Sorry, something went wrong

    Sorry, you cannot access this document. Please contact the person who shared it with you.

    Now because I was not present in the meeting, who so ever joined the meeting first, kick started the recording. This practically made them the owner of that recorded file. When I try to open the file location of that recording it points me to those individual users' (3 of them, in 3 separate occasions) Stream space, however the file no longer exists there. I have reached out to all those users personally and they can't see the recording either, despite I can see the recording in teams. (they are about 3 months old)

    Now none of us, can access those recordings. Is there any way to retrieve them? I can confirm that recordings are set to "never expire" in my meeting series.

    Hello ;

    I followed the steps you mentioned above, but I continue to get the attached error. You can find the video information below. If there is, is it possible to re-upload it from the database or send it to me?

    Hello Zeynep,

    I understand your situation.

    From your description, the error message you are encountering means that there might be an issue with the permissions set for the video on Microsoft Stream.

    If you are the person who initiated the recording, you should automatically have access to the video.

    However, you need to confirm from your organization's IT admin if there is a meeting policy put in place that might be contributing to the issue you are having. Read this article to understand the new policy that might cause your issue: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/teams-adds-explicit-consent-for-recorded-meetings/m-p/3766226

    If you confirm the new policy is not enabled in your organization, kindly take the following steps:

    1. If you are using the Teams desktop app, ensure it is updated to the latest version.
    2. If it is up to date, try restarting Teams, then sign out and sign in to see if the issue gets resolved.
    3. Try it on the browser the Teams web and see if you are able to access the video record. You can also try it through windows in private/incognito.

    Confirm and try the above ideas and let me know if the issue persists.

    Regards, Rita.
