Lately, when I open Teams, it tells me the organization installed a new version. I'd rather stick with the old one, but whenever I delete it, the new version just comes back. And if I ignore it, my old Teams closes and the new one pops up, do any one know how to solve this i want to use the old app?

    @FemiOduola Most useless response ever.

This is virus-like behaviour. I tis not just an 'update'.

Combined with the major security bug of logging in users to New Teams automatically without a password, even when they had actively signed out, this software should not be release, never mind be forced even when people specifically disable it.

You have no idea what 'frustration' means.

This feedback will not be looked at, even if is, it will be ignored.

I work for the NHS. Do you think these kinds of bugs are appropriate in healthcare settings? Microsoft should be looking at lawsuits.

The engineers and managers involved in 'New Teams' are idiots, with no clue about data security or stability, plain and simple.

Everything Microsoft releases recently behave like viruses and malwares by traditional definitions of when I was in college for computer security.

EVERYTHING is auto logged in... From Windows, to "new Outlook", to "new Teams"... As you said, the product managers and engineers involved are IDIOTS! They are so over zealous to take over every aspect of our lives, they don't even think about the privacy and legal implications this is causing to its customers.

What's even worse is that I uninstall the "new" versions of the app, but it would reinstall on its own and then close the old app and reopen the "new" version, all without my consent. When I say no to the "switch to new" switch, it just ignores me and flip over to the new version anyways. I don't know how the heck this can be acceptable to anyone at Microsoft with some common sense and brain cells left.

In addition, when Edge updates, I always get nervous because of high probability it would add and turn on some feature by default that involves violating privacies or grabbing my data. Say what you will about Google, they don't do this kind of **** on Chrome OS updates, or Chrome updates...

I have been a life long Microsoft supporter. However, it's time for government agencies to get together and start another round of anti-trust lawsuit against Microsoft. I see no way out of this behavior otherwise.

"downloads it, and then waits for the computer to be idle before silently installing the update. "

Unfortunately this statement is not true, or being in a Teams meeting is counted as the computer being Idle.

Teams "New" updated and installed for me in an important meeting. The "New" teams then makes the "Classic" teams inoperable; both for the desktop app and the browser. Teams "New" will also only work by deleting Teams "Classic".

It is quite common sense to get Teams "New" up and running; however forcing an update during a meeting is unacceptable. Also Teams "New" oddly did not become the default App when you click on a meeting link. Therefore since Teams "Classic" no longer works, you are left with no functioning application.

This is all especially concerning when you have your computer set up to not automatically install updates.

Hi, Mateusz. I am an independent advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

I am sorry you are having trouble with Teams. As a user, I understand this can be very frustrating. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but at the moment there is no way to preventing the pop up.

Rena Yu MSFT explains better in the article on https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/how-to-prevent-teams-client-from-auto-update/cfa76274-8d35-4c11-a319-a4bd91686914

"Not like other Office client apps, Teams doesn’t provide the way to control update. The desktop client updates itself automatically. Teams checks for updates every few hours behind the scenes, downloads it, and then waits for the computer to be idle before silently installing the update. You can refer to the reference article Teams update process for more information. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-client-update "

But because this is a very useful feature, I recommend leaving feedback on the feedback portal https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback so the Microsoft Developers can have a look, and make the feature available in upcoming updates.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if this contradicts what you need. I remain helpful in answering any more of your questions.

    Warm Regards

    Femi
