How to take control of a shared screen from Teams on iOS

Hello everyone,

I would like to control a shared Windows screen from the Teams app on iOS.
Meeting participants using an iOS device are greyed out when I am trying to give them control over my shared screen on Windows.

I found a thread from 2020 regarding this feature. Is the 'take control' feature still unavailable on iOS or am I doing something wrong?

Sincerely Yours,

Alex

    Hi Alex,

I am an independent advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

As of now, the ability to give control of shared content or screen directly from an iPad using Teams is not available. Unfortunately, participants using iOS devices cannot take control of a shared screen during a meeting.

The good news is that this limitation has been recognized, Microsoft acknowledges the need to make life easier and meet business requirements. You can contribute to this by voting for the idea on the Microsoft Teams UserVoice platform.

Workarounds: Currently, the only way to share content from an iPad is through the whiteboard feature. If you need interactive control, consider using a computer-to-computer connection instead of computer-to-iPad.

    The computer-to-computer ios feature:

    Give Control:

On the sharing toolbar, select “Give control.” Choose the name of the person you want to give control to. Teams will send a notification to that person, letting them know they have control. Remember that when sharing an app, only give control to people you trust, as they can send commands that might affect your system or other apps.

    Take Back Control:

If someone else is sharing their screen, and you want to take control, select “Request control.” The person sharing can then approve or deny your request. While you have control, you can make selections, edits, and other modifications to the shared screen. When you’re done, select “Release control” to stop sharing control.

    I would appreciate your feedback.
