Can't pin post in channel (MS Teams)

You can pin a message but it only appears in the teams side bar (if you have it turned on). It no longer appears at the top of the channel - this was a great feature. Well done Microsoft for breaking it.

Same issue here. Just created a private team, made a post and "We couldn't pin the post".

UPDATE: After an update or 3, I was finally able to PIN the post. Come on MSFT!

V2 web app does not work.

I can pin a channel, I cannot pin a message within a channel.

The options under the Settings Tab do not include Member Permissions, even though I am a Team Owner and a Global Admin in AzureAD.

Definitely an issue with V2/New Teams

I have 2 organizations on New Teams. One works (can pin a post in a private channel) and the other one doesn't work (as per my original post).

But both organizations work (can pin a post in a private channel) on the Classic Teams.

Like you said in your post, just need to wait for Microsoft to roll up more updates to resolve this.

If I understand correctly, you are not able to pin a post in a private channel in the New Teams.

The issue you are experiencing happens to be a known issue affecting some users of the new Microsoft Teams.

However, you can confirm that the member permissions are correctly set to allow pinning of posts. To check permissions, take the following steps if you are an owner on the Teams.

1. Sign in as an owner of the Team.
2. Right-click the affected private channel and select “Manage Channel”.
3. Go to the “Settings” tab, and expand “Member Permissions”. Toggle the “Allow members to create, update, and remove tabs” control on.

Though I have tried on my end and I couldn't pin my post. So, I don't think this is not available on the new Teams yet. It could be due to ongoing updates or issues with the new Microsoft Teams, as it’s still being improved.

However, you can submit feedback to Microsoft Teams development team on this.
