Can't Give Control in Teams

Hi all,

When I am on a Teams meeting, whether I am the host or not, I can share my screen, but NOT give control to someone else in the meeting. I've searched for a solution all over and am getting nowhere. Latest possibility is, perhaps a lack of hardware acceleration? I can't fathom that's it, but what do I know? LOL. I followed advice from an article about looking up acceleration in Edge browser and came up with a report. Can't seem to attach the TXT file to this post, so here's the result (4 JPG screenshots in a row):

I hope that renders OK. Bunch of gibberish to me. Folks, any thoughts? The ability to give control just isn't available. Can't click on it. Any help would be appreciated.

We use Office 365 and Teams comes with it (I guess). I'm the "admin" for all this, but not a Teams expert by any means. Could it be a "global" setting that's wrong?

Thanks!

    Hello Chris,

I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

I see that you've provided screenshots of your graphics feature status and driver configurations. However, the inability to give control during a Teams meeting is unlikely to be directly related to these graphics settings. The "Give Control" feature in Microsoft Teams is more reliant on the application's permissions and settings than hardware acceleration.

Here's a simple checklist to troubleshoot why you can't give control in Teams:

    1. Teams Version: Make sure you are using the latest version of Teams. Outdated versions might lack certain features or have bugs that have been resolved in newer updates.
    2. Meeting Policies: As an admin, check the Teams meeting policies in the Microsoft 365 admin center. There are settings that control whether participants can request or give control.
    3. Participant Permissions: Ensure that the participant to whom you're trying to give control has the appropriate permissions. They should be a member or a guest and not an anonymous participant.
    4. Teams Client: The "Give Control" feature works in the Teams desktop client and might not be available or function correctly in the web version or mobile app.
    5. Operating System Permissions: If you are on a Mac, you need to give Microsoft Teams accessibility permissions in the system preferences to use the "Give Control" feature.
    6. Global Settings: Review the global (organization-wide) settings in the Microsoft Teams admin center to ensure there are no restrictions that could be affecting this feature.

    I hope this helps,

    Best Regards, Ibhadighi
