The "New" in the Teams icon in the dock

How can one get rid of the "New" in the new Teams icon in the dock? It's plenty enough for me to just see the plain icon, without the word "New" in it.

Thank you, Eunice, for the quick reply. I'm surprised that the "new" Teams will keep the "New" in the icon forever. It's rather silly. For me, a new version of an app is new for, oh, about two days. Then it's normal and regular. It'll be quite the joke when months from now, it still says "New." I really hope Microsoft reconsiders this little icon. It's a totally small issue......but looks totally silly.

...also, teh NEW looks REEEEALLY ugly and I have to view it 24/7 while using my Mac - senseless... Fortunately there is that hack to edit the icon in OS, but what a bizarre piece of product design.

Labeling anything "NEW" is ridiculous and an oversight at any level of naming for software, at the icon level is hilarious. What happens when it is replaced with a newer revision? Will it say "New New"? This logic makes me feel like Microsoft is ran by children who don't understand that an update is not new for very long. Shameful behavior to say the least.

Diane H, I understand you concern about the new Teams icon, I believe it could be this way to differentiate the old/classic Teams from the new Teams. You can also share your feedback to Microsoft regarding the new Teams. https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback

    Hello Diane H,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. My name is Eunice and I am happy to assist you today.

If you have the new Teams installed, you will have the new logo and you cannot remove it. It also has no impact on your usage. If you have the classic Teams, it will have the previous logo which you are accustomed to.

Let me know if you need more help.

    Kind regards Eunice
