Why is there is no way to access GIFs in Teams Chats?

My Microsoft Teams updated, and the layout of my chat completely changed. I am using Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.28554. There used to be a large list of icons below the text bar, and now the layout has a smiley face and a plus sign to the right of the text box. See photos below for a before and after.

In recent updates, I have seen that the emoji and the GIF button combined, but my version only has emojis, no GIFs. Additionally, the "+" button has actions and apps, but there is no GIF option there either. I have thoroughly looked online for a solution, but I can't find anyone with the same problem as me. Solutions that are provided relate to a team owner disabling GIFs, but this issue is taking place in private chats.

Is this a bug? Hopefully I can get my GIFs back soon T-T.

Upon checking teams again this morning, it appears that my bug has been fixed overnight!! Hurray!! *^v^* I am very excited to have my GIFs back.

    According to your description and screenshot, I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble accessing GIFs in Teams Chats.

    The new layout you're seeing is part of the recent update to Microsoft Teams. The GIF option should be available in the same menu as the emojis.

    If you're not seeing it, it's possible that there may be a bug or issue with your version of Teams.

    To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend trying the following steps:

    1. Check for updates: Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Teams installed. You can do this by clicking on your profile picture in the top right corner of the Teams app, then selecting "Check for updates."
    2. Clear your cache: Clearing your cache can sometimes help resolve issues with Teams. To do this, click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the Teams app, then select "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Clear cache."
    3. Restart Teams: Sometimes simply restarting Teams can help resolve issues. Close the app completely, then reopen it and try accessing the GIFs again.
