"New" Teams notification are not working correctly

Notifications in the "new" Teams are horrible. I keep missing activity posts, chats and phone calls because I'm not notified. I do NOT want another email report of new posts and things I missed throughout the day. I want a notification indicator on the taskbar icon, a notification indicator on the Activity/Chat/Calls icons in the left column, and I want the @ notification if I'm tagged in anything. I'm eager to use the "new" Teams but so far there are too many things are just plain terrible and useless.

Same issue here. Old teams shows up on the list to turn notifications on/off, but new teams does not.

Same issue here. I just cleared the whole cache folder and still no desktop notifications. The Android app works fine though.

I just noticed that it doesn't even appear in the list of apps that have made notifications in Windows Settings > System > Notifications but Teams (classic) does! Why isn't it in there?

turn on the permission to show Teams notifications in the notification centre

The problem is that the New Teams does not appear in Notification Center settings!

New Outlook is there and works, but New Teams not!

Issue is about the same....sometimes, not all, I will get a pop-up when I receive a Teams message. But there is NO indication on the actual Teams toolbar icon that indicates a message was received. Matter of fact, there is no indication at all. It doesn't show status either, as it did before on the old Teams. I will be switching back and ensuring all our users are running the old version until this is fixed. Rather it be on purpose or not, I do not feel that this is correct. Thank you!

Thank you for getting back with me. See my response in green. I've been sitting at my desk the past 3-4 hours and have since received 2 new chats. I've received no notifications, and when I clicked on the Chat icon one of the ones that was new now appears as being read. This is a problem that Microsoft must fix.

First, let's check your Teams Notification Settings. This can be done by opening the Windows Settings menu (use the Windows + I key), selecting System from the left sidebar, and opening the Notifications menu. Please scroll down to Microsoft Teams and open it. Ensure the notification toggle and banner are enabled and turn on the permission to show Teams notifications in the notification center. Everything is on to receive notifications.

Next, let's disable Focus Assist. This feature is Microsoft's version of Do Not Disturb on Windows. When you enable Focus Assist, the system won’t disturb you with unnecessary daily alerts. You can either turn off Focus Assist or add Teams as an exception. I cannot stand Focus Assist so it is definitely disabled.

Have you checked your Team's status? You can set Away, Do not disturb, Busy, Be right back, Appear away, and Appear Offline status in Teams. When you set Busy or Do Not Disturb, Teams will turn off all notifications for your account. Make sure to revert your status to Available in the app. I never change this status and was under the impression that if Teams looked at my calendar and would automatically change my status to reflect busy if I was in a meeting. Does the 'new' Teams no longer do this? If not, I'll need to submit feedback that it is inefficient for a user to constantly have to change out status. In my case, it will not ever be changed because I only do it in Outlook and I don't want to have to change it everywhere else.

If you're still having issues with notifications for a specific channel in Teams, you may have turned off and forgotten about that channel's alerts. Here's how to enable notifications for a particular channel in Teams. I hope these suggestions are helpful, and please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Remember, we're in this together and work to find the best solution for you. I appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Unfortunately, I think they are for the current version of Teams and not the "new" version that's not been released. This "new" version has many issues. I'm one of the very few in my dept of 400 that is still using this 'new' version. I'm continuing to use it only because I have my fingers crossed that it gets better at some point and that Microsoft is listening to their customers.
