Teams PSTN Call Recording

Hey, Im looking for someone who maybe has some experience with call recording on Teams. Our org is new to using PSTN with Teams, and we are looking for a solution to record all phone calls incoming and outgoing. Another catch is at minimum we need to keep 10 years of recording history. Is there capability to do this within Teams itself? If so an automated process so human error wont be cause for any issues if they forget to enable record after a call has been connected? Or does anyone have any experience doing such thing using a reliable 3rd party source/software?

Any help or incite would be greatly appreciated!

Yes - there's a multitue of 3rd party providers that can help you do this.

To note, you cannot do this inherently within Teams. You will need a certified provider\partner.

It basically works that you will have a Call Recording server within your Azure tenant with storage that will hold your data (any good software provider will allow you to dictate retention times\call recording rules etc).

Call Recording policies are setup within Teams and assigned to users you want to record. If they're on a Teams call, then a Bot gets invited to the call and that Bot basically sends the media down to the call recording server along with the meta data.

    Dear Nick8845,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Microsoft Teams does have the capability to record PSTN calls. You can either record calls manually or automatically. Based on your description, to record call automatically, your organization can set up teams compliance/policy-based recording. This decides when calls and meetings should automatically be recorded through an admin policy.

Compliance Recording can be enabled on Microsoft 365 A3/A5/E3/E5/Business Premium, Office 365 A3/A5/E3/E5 users, Teams Rooms license, or Microsoft Teams Shared Devices license.

More info here: Introduction to Teams Policy-based Recording for Calling & Meetings - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn. You can also find here the certified partners for MS Teams compliance recording.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf.
