Orange microphone icon in my Mac menubar

How do I get rid of this orange microphone icon that showed up in my Mac (macOS 14.0) menubar after doing a video call on the new Teams app?

    I did find a reboot of my Mac has made it disappear for now. I've used Teams a few times since and it's not returned.

    Hello Try,

    Kindly follow the steps below to remove the microphone;

    1. Click on the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen and select System Preferences.
    2. In the System Preferences window, click on Security & Privacy.
    3. Click on the Privacy tab.
    4. In the left sidebar, click on Microphone.
    5. Find the Teams app in the list on the right and uncheck the box next to it.

    Thank you. I saw that possibility on my own. But wouldn’t that mute me next time I need to have a video chat on Teams? I don't want to revoke microphone access, I just want the obnoxious icon to go away when I’m not using the Teams app. Thanks

    Thanks, but there is not a checkbox for that in Settings/General on my current app - Microsoft Teams (work or school) Version 23285.3809.2525.961. I cannot find that setting in any of the other Settings tabs either.
