Hello LB H,
I'm Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thank you for posting your query in this forum.
You’re experiencing microphone issues on Teams, but don’t worry, we can fix this. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Adjust your microphone settings in Teams. Go to Teams settings > Devices. Under the Microphone dropdown, select your microphone.
Step 2: Verify your system settings. Navigate to System Preferences > Sound > Input. Ensure the correct microphone is selected and the input volume is high enough.
Step 3: Update Teams and macOS. Keeping your software up-to-date can prevent functionality issues.
Step 4: Restart your Mac. This simple action can often resolve temporary issues.
Step 5: If the problem persists, clear your Teams cache. Here’s how:
Close Microsoft Teams. Open Finder, click Go on your menu bar, and select Go to Folder. Paste this directory path into the Go to Folder box: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft Right-click the Teams folder and select Move to Trash. Open Spotlight Search by pressing the Command + Space shortcut on your keyboard. Type “Keychain” into the search field and select Keychain Access under Top Hit. In the Keychain Access window, type “Microsoft Teams” into the search bar and press Enter. Find the “Microsoft Teams Identities Cache” entry, right-click on it and select “Delete Microsoft Teams Identities Cache.” Relaunch Microsoft Teams.
Step 6: If you’re still having trouble, consider using OBS as a virtual device for MS Team. OBS will bridge your devices and the MS Team app. Download the OBS NDI plugin and configure the OBS microphone and device settings on MS Team. you can download here: https://github.com/obs-ndi/obs-ndi/releases
I hope this helps!
Kind regards, Segunfunmi.
