Webinar Banner Image Quality?

Anonymous

Hi all!

I'm working on creating an image for a Teams Webinar banner. I've noticed that even though my image size is correct and resolution looks good on my image, when I upload it to use as a banner it looks quite blurry. I did all of the typical things I do to try to remove JPEG artefacts as well and it did not help. Is this a known issue for banner images? Does anyone have any tips for the quality?

Thanks!

Sizing your Microsoft Teams Banner image to 4923px x 1216px and saving as a .png worked for our team. We spent a good 90 mins trying ever iteration before landing on this size.

I hope this helps someone else!

I have the same issue, even though I used PNG as advised.

    Hi Tessa,

I'm having the same issue with the Teams Webinar banner. I've tried the image as both a PNG and JPG at the recommended resolution and it still pixelated. I'm hoping for answer as well.

    thank you,

    Jenny

    Hello Tessa C,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Here are some tips to help improve the quality of your Teams Webinar banner image:

    1. Image Format: Use PNG format instead of JPEG. PNG images generally have better quality and support transparency. Make sure to save the image in a high quality when exporting.
    2. Image Size and Resolution: Ensure that your image dimensions match the recommended size for the banner. Check if Teams has any specific recommendations for banner image dimensions and resolution. Resizing an image after the fact can lead to loss of quality.
    3. Text and Graphics: If your banner includes text or graphics, make sure they are high-resolution and not overly compressed. Sometimes, heavily compressed text or graphics can contribute to blurriness.
    4. File Size: While you want to maintain good quality, very large file sizes can also cause issues. Try to find a balance between quality and file size.
    5. Test and Preview: Before finalizing and uploading your banner, preview it in different browsers and devices. This can help you identify any issues with blurriness or artifacts that might arise from rendering differences.
    6. Anti-Aliasing: Ensure that any text or graphics in your image are properly anti-aliased. This can help prevent jagged edges and improve overall image quality.
    7. Upload Settings: Some platforms have options for adjusting image quality or compression settings during the upload process. Explore these options if available.
    8. External Image Editing Software: Consider using external image editing software to create and optimize your banner image before uploading it to Teams.

    Best Regards, Shalom
