Hello,

Please i need your help on this issue.

We have an issue where users that use Cisco Jabber in co-existence with Teams cannot change the "Register Teams as chat app for Office" option to show the presence status correctly?

I'm hoping that this is a known issue within MS and that a fix is possible.

    Hi IBN,

I'm Ahmed and I am here & happy to help.

I apologize for the issue you are experiencing with MS Teams. Please be assured that I will do my best to provide a satisfactory response and assist you with resolving the problem.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

Go to the Teams settings and uncheck the "Register Teams as chat app for Office" option.

    Close Teams and Jabber.

Open the Windows Registry Editor (regedit.exe).

Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers

    Delete the "DefaultIMApp" value.

    Restart Jabber and Teams.

Go to the Teams settings and check the "Register Teams as chat app for Office" option again.

    Restart Jabber and Teams again.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Best regards,

I've done this. However, every time I launch Cisco Jabber, which I use for softphone, the "Register the new Teams..." option gets de-selected in my Teams client.
