Teams Android (Note 20) not send/rec messages on home wifi

So I have a Galaxy S Note 20 and a corporate Microsoft account for some reason I cannot send or receive messages on my Asus router at home I don't have problems using my personal teams account on my router.

I've cleared the cache, uninstalled reinstalled, I'm wondering if it's not the router blocking certain type of traffic.

What protocol does Microsoft teams use? I can check my router settings to make sure I don't have that protocol blocked.

Are there any other customizable settings that my employer may have changed that could be blocking traffic?

Open to other suggestions if anyone has experienced similar issue.

I hope my experience can be useful.

What we experienced in my office started in mid-2023. Teams sporadically failed to send messages on cellular data, but everything worked fine on WiFi. And it happened on 1 out of 5 Androids. All Samsung Galaxy S and Note line. All enrolled as Android Enterprise of corporate ownership with a work profile.

Last month, 4 of those 5 Samsungs fail. They receive messages but cannot send on cellular data. Users log out and when they want to log in again, they get error 2605 as if there was no connectivity. This happens with TEAMS in the WORK profile and personal profile. I don’t have any Conditional Access that limits the M365 Apps on mobile devices. Randomly, they also lose connectivity on WiFi, although this happens little. The users do not travel, so the routes and transfers are those of their daily routines, there are no changes. Where it used to work now it doesn’t. We have contacted Microsoft support, and after 3 attempts to close the ticket, they have asked me for the logs…but there is no way to get them out. The Windows diagnostic data viewer does not work and the only log I have been able to access are those I get from the Intune app.

    Any ideas pals?

    Good Day,

I have a similar issue and I'm wondering if it's related to an update around January. Many of our users started to complain that authenticator app tokens were timing out after inputting, when connected to our office network. Now we notice teams msgs are timing out when connected to the network, but are going through when switching to mobile data. Our investigation has so far shown that this issue is only limited to Android phones, and when we switch our DNS from our internal DNS server to Google's, the msgs go through fine. Any thoughts on this?

So I'm logged in just fine it seems to be isolated to Microsoft teams chat messages not sending or receiving when I'm on my personal home Wi-Fi broadband connection. ASUS router with fairly Standard Security spectrum internet using Googe DNS.

I've done your typical turn it off back on again uninstall reinstall clear cache logged out back in. Perhaps I'm just angered the Elders of the internet? Apparently Roy says they know who I am. Lol

I will check into the conditional access policy, that's exactly the type of thing I was thinking of I was asking about parts and protocols and such

    Hello Jeffrey Byrne,

    Hope this finds you well.

I understand that you’re having trouble with Microsoft Teams on your Galaxy S Note 20.

To answer your question, Teams uses TCP ports 80 and 443 to connect to web-based content, and UDP ports 3478 through 3481 for media such as audio and video. Can you use the same router connection to connect to teams on another device, say a PC? Just to check if the issue is connection or device based.

If you still can't log in, it is possible that the employer admin might have configured a conditional access policy through Azure to stop teams login outside the cooperate environment.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Ashraf.
