    Hi,

    Go to

Settings > Notification > Advance Setting > and turn on Manage notification categories for each app.

I was then able to see Notification Categories in Apps > Teams > Notification

    Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for asking about this. I am having the same issue on my S21 Ultra, after many years of being able to select specific notifications. It's frustrating, to say the least. Even on the Notifications screen, it appears as though you can still select the specific notification types, but once you click the Custom option, the notifications types are missing.

If anyone has any updates on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

    THANKS SO MUCH!

I didn't notice this setting existed let alone why Samsung decided to turn it off by default.

    Hi Skúli,

You're right, unfortunately Microsoft Teams on Android doesn't allow setting individual notification sounds or toggles for specific channels or activities within the app itself.

Here are a couple ways to manage your Teams notifications on your new S24 Ultra:

Manage within Teams App: Open the Microsoft Teams app. Tap on your profile picture in the top left corner. Select "Notifications". From here you can control some general notification settings:

    • **General Activity:** Toggle notifications on or off for all activities like mentions, meetings, chats etc.
      • **Channels:** This lets you manage which channels you're subscribed to. Leaving channels you don't need will reduce notifications.
      • **Quiet hours:** You can set specific times and days to silence all Teams notifications. Use your Android Notification Settings: Open your phone's Settings app. Navigate to "Apps & notifications" or similar wording depending on your phone's version. Find "Microsoft Teams" in the app list. Tap on "Notifications". While you can't set individual notification sounds here, you can control if Teams notifications appear at all, silence them or change the notification behaviour (like sound, vibration etc.).

Even though you can't set individual notification sounds within Teams itself, these methods should help you manage the flow of notifications and silence any unwanted ones.
