Does anyone know how to automatically get a recurring meeting invite within a channel added to the calendar of new members of the channel?

I started a channel for a support group at work and have a monthly recurring meeting. But when new members are added, do I have to manually invite them to the meeting? Or is there a way to get them added automatically. Also when one tried to click on the meeting and accept, she got an error message that said "Couldn't accept Support Meeting". So how do I get around manually adding each member each time?

Hello PJYN, Good day!Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.We are looking into your situation, we will update the thread shortly.

First the first please can you recreate the meeting and check if the issue still persists?

Basically ,Once you have created the recurring meeting as a channel meeting, any new members who are added to the channel will automatically be added to the meeting. They will also be able to see the meeting in their calendar and can accept the meeting invitation from there.

Regarding the error message that one of your members received when trying to accept the meeting, it's possible that there was a temporary issue with the Teams service. If the issue persists, you can try deleting and recreating the meeting to see if that resolves the issue.

To automatically add a recurring meeting invite within a channel to the calendar of new members, you can leverage the Teams Meeting functionality in Microsoft Teams. Here's how you can set it up:

    1. Create the recurring meeting: Start by creating a recurring meeting in your calendar application (such as Outlook). Set the meeting details, including the recurrence pattern, date, time, and duration.
    2. Convert the meeting to a Teams meeting: In the meeting invitation, click on the "Teams Meeting" button. This will generate a meeting link that can be used by both existing and new channel members.
    3. Invite the channel to the meeting: Add the channel as an attendee to the meeting invitation. This can be done by entering the channel name or email address in the attendee field of the invitation.
    4. Channel members receive the invitation: When a new member joins the channel, they will automatically receive the meeting invitation in their calendar. They can click on the meeting to view the details and accept it.

We look forward to your reply. This requested information will help us narrow down the scenario and find the right troubleshooting. We will continue to assist you based on the information you provide. I sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation.   SincerelyEben Ezer Tres | Microsoft Community Moderator
