    Hello AHV,

Currently, Microsoft Teams does not provide a built-in option to completely remove or hide the "@ Mentions" bar from the Chat section

This feature is designed to help users manage notifications and interactions within Teams, but it can feel redundant or obtrusive for some users.

You can submit feedback to Microsoft about this feature by going to Help in your Teams app and selecting Submit Feedback. Your feedback can help influence future updates and features.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Best regards,  Tan-Ly - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Definitely, a real inconvenience for those who use laptop or small screen, as saving space is of crucial importance.

Remove stupid mentions! What is wrong with you? How on earth did you come up with a brilliant idea to add a useless feature, that cannot be turned off?!

To word this reply in a way that explains why this is an unhelpful feature, I use all the allotted favourites Teams allows. Prior to this forced update on me, I would always have the first one or two rows of the Chats that were NOT a favourite.

This means I would always see the latest chat that someone had sent me and I could answer it without having to scroll down.

Now I need to scroll just in case new messages were in addition to any I had for my favourites, which is not efficient. Very few people I work with use @ Mentions so not at all helpful for me.

If they did, don't those appear in Alerts anyway, so this is always a redundant feature unless MS have removed this from Alerts.

It's a shame we all have to go back to Teams to report this individually, instead of being able to add thumbs etc. here. That's less efficient too.

I'm glad, after I was forced onto this version, that I found the Settings option to turn off combined Chats and Teams, also unhelpful, and removing the filter buttons row. Not clear why @ Mentions wasn't part of this also.
