How to Migrate Skype Contacts and Chats to Microsoft Teams?

Hi, I'm using Skype and have had many groups, chats, and contacts for years. I tried logging into Teams with my Skype credentials, and while the login was successful, none of my contacts, chats, or groups transferred over.

How can I transfer them to Teams? I couldn't find any information about this. Please help. Thanks!

When? Your guess is as good as anybody's. All anyone from MS will say is to refer to the statement released when they made the announcement which said it would be "a couple days". Since over a week has gone by and still no joy, Microsoft has evidently run into serious issues doing the transfer. All we can do is stick with skype for the time being and hope they get it all sorted out before they pull the plug on skype. Skype will continue to work for at least another two months and rather amusingly, they are still pushing out daily updates to the skype app.

    Hello,

The transfer WILL be done automatically. You won't have to do anything manually.

Many users somehow misunderstood that this would happen as long as they sign into Teams. No, it will be rolling out to all users over coming days, it hasn't happened yet.
