As a pilot project we would like to turn on Teams transcription for only a few test users. Is that possible? or do all/no users have to have transcription enabled?

We are using Microsoft Teams for conducting lectures at our university. Currently, all the meeting recordings from various Teams within our organization are automatically saved to my OneDrive. Is there a way to automatically save all the meeting transcripts to my OneDrive as well, just like the recordings?

We are looking for a solution that does not involve manually downloading the transcripts. Any guidance on how to set this up or available features that could help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Cheryl Venus,

    Hello

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

Yes, it is possible for an administrator to turn on Teams Transcriptions for only some users in an organization. This can be done by creating a policy that enables transcription for specific users or groups of users. To do this, the administrator can use the Teams Admin Center to create a policy that includes the transcription feature and then assign that policy to the desired users or groups.

    Create a New Meeting Policy:

    • Go to the Microsoft Teams admin center (https://admin.teams.microsoft.com).
    • Navigate to Meetings > Meeting policies.
    • Click Add to create a new policy.
    • Configure the policy to enable transcription.
    • Under Recording & transcriptionset Allow transcription to On.
    • Save the policy.
