Teams Meeting recording failed to upload, when meeting includes a shared calendar.

Issue: Meeting Recordings fail to upload. Recording Failed to upload or There was a problem uploading this recording to OneDrive

End user experience: It will take a while to save, and then there will be several failed to upload messages. Participants cannot click on to view the video, However the video will save to the meeting hosts Recording folder.

Why? I am not sure however, I have identified how to recreate this issue, the common denominator appears to be each meeting has added to or created on a shared calendar. One on One meeting recordings, and normal calendar scheduled meetings that dont include a shared calendar are not failing.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? More and more of the shared mailboxes in our environment are starting to experience this and other bizarre behavior when recording meetings.

    I haven't found one yet.

I tried the Diag:Missing Recording - hasn't worked for me.

I've raised a case with Microsoft support. I'll keep you posted.

This issue is still very much affecting my colleagues and I.

Does the recording attempt to upload to a non-existant OneDrive because a shared mailbox is the organiser or does it get recorded and uploaded to the OneDrive of the user to initiate the meeting and thus the recording?

In the latter case there is enough space on my OneDrive for the recording so why would it fail to upload. My OneDrive client is running without issue at the moment.

Is this due to the requirement of a license for both the organiser & recorder as above?

When was this put into affect? This appears to have been working seamlessly before July.

This happens in the app and also on the web version of the app. This happens on all of computers in my org so not app cache or machine specific. Are you able to test this at your organization the steps I posted to recreate the error in my original post? We will look into opening official ticket, curious if other orgs are having this issue as well.

    Hello Todd,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community. Use Teams Troubleshooter: Try using the Teams Troubleshooter. Open your browser and go to office.com. Search for “Diag: Missing Recording” in the help dialog box. Enter the URL and date of the meeting, and you’ll receive a URL to type into your browser. The meeting recording should download.

Clear App Cache: If the issue persists on the Teams desktop app, clear the app cache. You can follow the steps here to clear the cache.https://www.uvm.edu/it/kb/article/clearing-team confirm if you are able to download

If the issue persist I suggest that you reach out to your admin (if you're not) and open up an official support ticket with from the admin portal.

    Ruth Regards
