Capturing audio, video, and screen content from Teams meetings for later review or sharing
Hi Roger,
I have the exactly same settings as you mentioned in the meeting policy, but my Start recording is greyed out with a lock icon. When the mouse points to the lock icon, it says "Unavailable because Copilot is turned off for this meeting.".
Is it possible to record a meeting while the All transcription and Copilot are all off?
Thanks very much!
Ying Wu
Hi GeanzX
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.
I am truly sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Based on the description, I understand that you would like to record Teams meetings without Copilot enabled.
To manage how these features are used in a Teams meeting, please kindly go Teams admin center > Meeting > Meeting policies.
- Disable Transcription:
- As an admin, you can disable the transcription feature for your organization or specific users. This can be done in the Teams Admin Center under Meetings > Meeting policies. Set the Allow transcription setting to Off (Manage meeting and event policies in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn)
- Record the Meeting:
- You can still record the meeting without transcription. During the meeting, click on More actions (the three dots) in the meeting controls, then select Start recording. This will record the video and audio without generating a transcript.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Roger Shen
