Record Teams meetings WITHOUT Copilot enabled

It seems that Copilot is being forced through and certain features are only available with CoPilot.

I don't want Copilot to transcribe certain meetings, but I do want the ability to record the video.

Any way this can be done?

    Hi Roger,

I have the exactly same settings as you mentioned in the meeting policy, but my Start recording is greyed out with a lock icon. When the mouse points to the lock icon, it says "Unavailable because Copilot is turned off for this meeting.".

Is it possible to record a meeting while the All transcription and Copilot are all off?
    Thanks very much!

    Hi GeanzX

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

I am truly sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Based on the description, I understand that you would like to record Teams meetings without Copilot enabled.

To manage how these features are used in a Teams meeting, please kindly go Teams admin center > Meeting > Meeting policies.

    1. Disable Transcription:
    2. Record the Meeting:
      • You can still record the meeting without transcription. During the meeting, click on More actions (the three dots) in the meeting controls, then select Start recording. This will record the video and audio without generating a transcript.

This is still a problem. turning off copilot in teams admin, the transcription is "on" but in meetings recording is greyed out.

    Can we fix this?
