My Teams status has not updated from Available, Out of Office to Available.

I do not currently have an out-of-office set in my Outlook. I did have a meeting that extended into today, which had "show as" out-of-office. I removed today's date; currently, the end is 7/7. I have no meetings scheduled for today. I've tried to manually change the status in Teams, I've tried reset status, I've change to Busy but that also shows out of office. I've changed back to Available but still have out of office. I've signed out of Teams a couple of times and restarted my laptop. no luck.

    Hello Philip F,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. My name is Eunice and I'm happy to help.

I am sorry you are experiencing this problem. It seems like you've encountered a common issue where the Teams status doesn't update as expected.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Reset Status in Teams: Click your profile at the top right of the Teams app, go to your current status, and click Reset status.
    2. Change Status Manually: Open Teams, click your profile picture at the top, or More. Click your current status and select the status you want to update to: Available (or Reset status).
    3. Set Status Message: Go to your profile at the top of Teams, click Set status message, type the message that you want to show to other people in the box, click Done, and Teams will refresh. You may now delete the message.
    4. Sign Out and Sign In: Sign out of Teams by selecting your profile picture at the top right of Teams and then selecting Sign out.

Once Teams closes, open it again and sign in with your email and password.

    1. Clear Cache: Sometimes, clearing the cache can resolve unexpected behaviors in Teams.

    1. Check Teams Online: Try to change the status via MS Teams online. https://teams.microsoft.com

Use Chrome or Edge browsers to access MS Teams online, log in, and attempt to change your status.

Let me know if you need more help.

    Regards, Eunice

    Hi Eunice

Thanks for the quick response. Just as I was going to try your recommended steps, I noticed Teams finally changed to Available (no longer Available - Out of Office). I guess there was some odd delay.

    Philip
