I'm finding some documentation on the web that per MC793969, hidden channels no longer send notifications. I'd still like to receive notifications for conversations within hidden channels that I either start or start participating in. Is there a global setting that allows this? The only workaround I've found is to use the three-dot menu in each conversation I'd like notifications for to enable notifications for that specific conversation. This is a decent workaround, but it'd be nice if there was a global setting so I don't have to remember to do this every time.

You are correct that hidden channels no longer send notifications. With the launch of this new feature, notification suppression for hidden channels, users will now only receive notifications for personal and tag mentions from these hidden channels. This enhancement is designed to improve the user experience by allowing them to stay on top of their most relevant conversations.
However, you can still receive notifications for conversations within hidden channels that you start or participate in by enabling notifications for each conversation individually. Unfortunately, there isn’t a global setting to override this behavior and automatically receive notifications for conversations you start or participate in within hidden channels.
The workaround you mentioned—using the three-dot menu to enable notifications for specific conversations—is currently the best method available. While it might be a bit inconvenient, it ensures you don’t miss important updates in those conversations. If you’d like to see a global setting for this feature, you might consider providing feedback to Microsoft through the Teams app, you may submit your concern to the Microsoft Admin Center under feedback or create a UserVoice request for the feature on our Microsoft Teams · Community. They often take user feedback into account for future updates.
