Why is my microphone not working in meetings but it works with the testing or with regular calls through Teams?

I am having a very strange issue with Teams. When I join a meeting, my microphone does not work, however, when if someone calls me through Teams, it works fine. I have tried different headsets, both wired and wireless. When I use the test call feature in settings the microphone works fine. I am completely baffled. Has anyone else had this issue?

I am running Windows 10. I am currently on the new Teams, but I do not recall if this started before or after my company switched.

    Dear AleczanderM,

Many thanks for your reply and explanations.

You confirmed that that your microphone is selected as the default device in Teams; have you also check your computer's sound settings to make sure that your microphone is selected as the default recording device in your computer's sound settings?

If the issue persists, poor internet connection can cause issues with audio and video during meetings, please try different network and check and if you have another headset available, try using it to see if the issue persists.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Dear AleczanderM,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your microphone in Teams meetings. Based on the information you've provided; it seems like the issue might be related to the specific meeting you're joining. To troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Have you checked your microphone settings in Teams to make sure that is selected as the default device in Teams? To do this, click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the Teams app, then click on "Settings" > "Devices" > "Make a test call" and follow the prompts to test your microphone.
    2. If you're the organizer of the meeting, could you please check to make sure that the microphone settings are set to "Allow" for all participants? To do this, click on the three dots in the meeting toolbar, then click on "Device settings" > "Audio" > "Allow attendees to unmute".
    3. If possible, could you please try joining the meeting from a different device to see if the issue persists? This will help you determine if the issue is with your device or with the meeting itself.

If none of these solutions work, please let me know so we can explore other options. Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue right away. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your help.
