Dear Anthony Del Valle_158,
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.
Currently, Microsoft Teams does not have a private chat functionality within a Teams meeting chat window. However, during a meeting, you can click on the "Show conversation" button to open the meeting chat. From there, you can click on the "New chat" button to start a new private chat with one or more participants in the meeting. This private chat will only be visible to the participants involved in the chat and will not be visible to other meeting participants.
If you want to chat with someone privately in the teams chat window, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Microsoft continuously strives to improve its products and to provide a better experience to its consumers. At this point, we would like to have our engineers be aware of the said concern. I would recommend posting your concern on our Ideas · Community (microsoft.com). After submitting the feedback, will you please share me the feedback link, I will ask my team to help vote for it. Through this, our support engineers will be able to collate data and supporting details regarding this and might consider adding the feature as a good ground for future updates.
On the other side, users can also monitor Microsoft's Roadmap service platform to know what features are in development, Rolling out, and Launched by relevant product team?. Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365.
I hope the information helps! If there is any update or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.
Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Sherry | Microsoft Community Moderator
