Hello Rhian Gohil
Good day! Thank you for posting in the community.
Microsoft Teams does not provide an option to directly change your time zone within the app. The time zone settings for Teams are derived from the settings of your operating system or your Outlook calendar. Therefore, if you are encountering issues with incorrect time zone information in Teams.
Teams is designed to integrate with other Microsoft services like Outlook and the system clock on your computer. This integration ensures that your meetings, messages, and calendar events are consistent across different platforms. As such, Teams relies on your operating system’s time zone settings to display times correctly.
Since you can't change the time zone directly within Teams, here's how you can ensure that the time zone is set correctly for everything that Teams depends on:
- Update Your Time Zone in Your Operating System:
- For Windows:
- Open Settings (press
Win + I).
- Go to Time & Language.
- Click on Date & Time.
- Ensure that the Time zone is set correctly. You may also toggle Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically if you prefer automatic adjustments.
- For macOS:
- Open System Preferences.
- Select Date & Time.
- Click on the Time Zone tab.
- Set the correct time zone either by selecting it from the map or entering it manually.
- Update Time Zone in Outlook:
- For Outlook Desktop Application:
- Open Outlook.
- Go to File > Options.
- Select Calendar.
- In the Time zones section, adjust your time zone settings.
- For Outlook Web App:
- Go to Outlook.com or Office 365.
- Click on the gear icon (⚙) and select View all Outlook settings.
- Go to General > Language and time.
- Adjust your Time zone.
These approaches should automatically update the time zone in Teams.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration. If you need more information, please feel free to reach out.
