I would like to use Teams to record and transcribe an in-person meeting, i.e., with no other attendees other than myself and my computer. Is this possible? I have been trying to do so and the recordinging starts as does the transcribing, but then there is not recording file available after I "leave" the meeting. thank you!

    Dear AmimoA,

    Good day.

After thorough research , testing from my end i was able to do it by   Open Microsoft Teams and start a new meeting. You can do this by going to the Calendar tab and clicking on "Meet now" and cancel the pop up.

    1. Join the Meeting: Join the meeting from your computer. Since you are the only attendee, you will be the sole participant.
    2. Start Recording and Transcription: Once you are in the meeting, click on the three-dot menu (More actions) and select "Start recording" and "Start transcription". This will begin recording the meeting and transcribing the audio in real-time.
    3. End the Meeting: When you are done, click on the three-dot menu again and select "Stop recording" and "Stop transcription". The recording and transcription will be saved automatically.

First you should find the chat create by the meeting you have done by yourself with the recording. Check if it work. However if you can find the chat meeting. Kindly try the process using your teams on the web to see if you are facing the same issue

However if you are facing the same issue , to better understand the problem and provide a solution, we need more details from you, please provide us with the following information. Thank you.

    1. Ensure Proper Settings: Make sure that your Teams settings allow for recording and transcription. This can be managed by your IT admin, so if you encounter issues, you might need to check with them to ensure these features are enabled for your account 2. Save and Access the Recording: After you stop the recording and leave the meeting, the recording file should be saved to your OneDrive for Business. You can find it in the "Recordings" folder. The transcription will also be available in the meeting chat or channel conversation if you’re meeting in a channel

If you are still not seeing the recording file after following these steps, it might be worth checking your OneDrive settings or contacting your IT support for further assistance. Additionally, ensure that your internet connection is stable during the recording and transcription process, as interruptions can sometimes cause issues with saving the files.

Or you can share the steps via this link to your admin or IT department Manage Teams recording policies for meetings and events - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn. use the URL and date to check if the recording is available, they will generate a link where you can use that link to download the recording

We look forward to your reply. We will continue to assist you based on the information you provide. I sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation. SincerelyEben Ezer Tres | Microsoft Community Moderator
