How to copy teams chat with Timestamp?

Ever since this month and while using the new team application, I can no longer copy teams chat message with the timestamp. I need the timestamp to reference conversations and it would be a pain to add the time and date stamps for every message I need to copy. Also I found that you can copy messages with a partial timestamp by highlighting the chat messages and press control c while holding the right click button on my mouse. This also doesn't help as I get a preview message with double names. It would be a pain to remove part of a line per chat message I am copying. Is there a way to restore the old copying with the timestamp and an option for those who don't want the timestamp. I know skype had this functionality.

Who in their right mind decides to remove this feature from a BUSINESS application. That literally makes no sense and serves absolutely no useful purpose except to irritate users!

Please for the love of all that's right Eben-Ezer, escalate this up until they bring back this feature!

This removal of the Name, Date/Time Stamp has exponentially caused my work product to be horribly slow and cumbersome. My entire Team is at a stand-still and is breaking all of our processes for our work. This is a simple issue that MS Dictators could have thought out with adding an option FLAG that each user could choose to implement when needed vs just doing what MS Dictators do, DO AS WE DEMAND, NOT AS YOU NEED!

    The Giant you hate, MS!

Eben Ezer Tres - The request you highlighted was to ELIMINATE the timestamps, not restore them. That may well have been the complaint that caused them to be removed.

Do not upvote Stan Lovisa complaint from 4 months ago. Post a comment that this was a wrongful thing to arbitrarily do and ask for a toggle in Settings to show or not show them in copy/paste.

Ran into the same problem with the recent Teams update.

I use a Mac, but maybe the workaround is the same:

    • Highlight the text you want to copy with your mouse, and continue to hold down the mouse button—don't let up.

    • Then use your shortcut keys to copy the text (command+C), and then let up on the mouse button.

    • Paste it where you need it, and it should include the timestamp and identity.

    Dear Bradley Morris27,

    Good day.

After thorough research, testing from my end and consulting, it’s been concluded that currently copying and pasting from a Microsoft new Teams chat window no longer includes the sender's name and timestamp. You need to use the workaround like you suggest in your description , " I have used is to highlight your text and while holding down the left mouse button (Do not release after highlighting) press CTRL+C".

We have find similar case in our feedback portal and some users already report the issue Teams chat. copy & paste · Community (microsoft.com). Kindly upvote their request.

We apologize if we are not able to meet your requirements; however, thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will surely raise you concerns to our Product Team and hopefully this can be included in the future updates.
