Can a Co-Organizer of a Teams meeting create breakout rooms before the start of the meeting?

Hello!

I have successfully added co-organizers in the meeting settings, however they are unable to create breakout rooms until the meeting has started. Is there a way to give co-organizers access to set up breakout rooms before the start of a meeting? Thank you!

    Dear afelsch

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!

Based on your description, I understand you concern with to create breakout rooms before the start of the meeting as a Co-Organizer.

I do apologize for the inconvenience, but in Microsoft Teams, only the meeting organizer has the ability to set up breakout rooms before the meeting starts. Co-organizers can manage breakout rooms during the meeting, but they cannot create or configure them in advance.

To create breakout rooms, you must be a meeting organizer or a presenter in the meeting organizer's organization who's been appointed a breakout rooms manager.

If you have other questions, please feel free to let me know, I will continue to assist you.

Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
