Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Dear Babu,
Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community.
I can see that you are experiencing an issue where Read.ai, added by someone outside your organization, automatically joins and records your Teams meetings, and you want to completely remove it.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this must have caused you in any way.
Please follow the steps below to remove Read.ai from Microsoft Teams:
- Open Microsoft Teams and go to your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Select Manage apps.
- Find Read.ai in the list of installed apps.
- Click on the three dots icon next to Read.ai and select Uninstall.
- Confirm the removal by clicking Remove.
- Restart Teams to ensure the changes take effect.
If Read.ai continues to join your meetings, it might be due to other participants having it enabled. You can check the meeting chat to see who invited Read.ai and ask them to disable it.
Also, from my research, I discovered that sometimes after going through the above steps, Read.ai still does not get removed. If that is the case, you can carry out the additional steps below.
Sign into Microsoft Teams admin center with Admin credentials.
- Choose Manage apps under Teams apps.
- Search for Meeting Summaries.
- Click on Meeting Summaries.
- Edit Availability to None.
- Click Apply.
- Test and verify the status to ensure the app is blocked.
After blocking the app from the Teams admin center, you can then go to Azure Portal and carry out the following streps:
- Sign in to the Azure Portal.
- Navigate to Enterprise applications.
- Search for Read AI and select it.
- In the Manage section, go to Properties.
- Click Delete to remove the app from your tenant
