Integrating Flip into Microsoft Teams

I am trying to find Flip in my Microsoft Teams platform. It does not come up as an App. Is there another way to search for it? I do already have a Flip account, but I know Flip is going away on July 1 and we need to implement it with Teams. Thank you.

I found it - you need to be in your class team. Go to the assignments tab, and select the 'create' button and 'New assignment'. This opens a new page where you can write the Title and information you used to write in Flip instruction. Then click the +New button at the bottom of this window - a menu pops up with Flip as an option. Select that option, and you have the same Flip video recording and functions of old!

How do students collaborate? That was the great part about the flip platform. Is there a way to do that now?

But are the students able to post their own videos and make video comments to one another? I don't just want them to send videos, but be able to post videos to each other for collaboration.

This is also the functionality that made Flip useful for me. Without it Flip will just be another app that Microsoft broke.

    Hi Summer,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Furkaan, a user just like you. I’d be happy to help you with your concerns. You're right, Flip as a standalone app won't be available in Teams anymore. However, Microsoft has integrated core Flip functionalities directly into Teams for Education!

Here's how you can leverage Flip within Teams:

Use Teams for Education: This feature is primarily for educational purposes. If you're using Teams for business or another purpose, this integration might not be available.

Add a Flip Tab: Within a Teams channel, you can add a dedicated Flip tab. This allows you to connect your existing Flip group or topic directly to that channel. Create Flip Assignments: You can even create video assignments using the Flip camera directly within Teams for Education. Students can then submit their video responses through the same platform.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Give back to the Community. Help the next person who has this issue by indicating if this reply solved your problem. Click Yes or No below. Best Regards, Furkaan
