How to close the Account Manager window after setting status?

Say I am on the Calls screen and have concluded my call. I then want to change my status to BRB or Away with a message. A small drop down appears at the top right of my screen when I click my picture. I make the changes but cannot make the drop down disappear unless I click outside of the box (no "X"). The only options on the drop down itself are "Sign Out" or "Add another account." I just want to close the drop down.

I tried to snip a screen shot, but the resulting paste says NOT FOUND.

I understand in the overall scheme of things this isn't a big deal, but I find it annoying. I have been known to "click dial" a team mate just trying to close the setting window.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Hi Toni,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. We're happy to help you with your concern.

Based on your description, you have trouble when trying to close the drop down in Teams interface. By design in Teams interface, there is no "X" option for the status dropdown. There are two ways to close the dropdown including Click outside of the box/dropdown area (Like you have done) and press the Esc key on your keyboard. By pressing the Esc key, you can avoid miss-click on another button that may cause some troubles.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that the Teams interface has caused you since there is no X button for the status dropdown. Since it's a user concern about a feature, Microsoft encourages users to submit ideas or feedback directly through Feedback Hub(you can follow guidelines in here), Microsoft Feedback Portal (Ideas · Community) or you can directly send feedback from within the app since many Microsoft apps have a "Help" or **"Feedback"**option in the menu. Mention that you'd like to have a X button for closing the status dropdown.

We highly appreciate your suggestions for developing features in Microsoft products to provide better customer experiences.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out again if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

"Esc" will work! Thanks so much for the response. I've accidentally dialed a team member a few times as we use Teams for calls so that's the screen I usually have up.
