Is there a way to share meeting recaps and recordings with users on another tenant?

As a consultant, when we have a meeting with a client, the meeting recap and recording either stays on our tenant or the client's tenant depending on who invited who to the meeting.

We would like to be able to have both the client and our consulting team (including team members who did not attend the meeting) be able to review the recap and recording.

I have a related question. While I can find how to copy a link to the meeting recording (3 dot menu by the file under Shared tab), is there a way to simply send a link to the meeting's Recap view, which contains the attendance, notes, and recording?

Email is still the primary means of post-meeting communication in our org, and it's very cumbersome to send out minutes when all these items are already available in one place.

    Thanks

    Thank you, De Paul.

    You said:

If the external users are added as guests in your Teams environment, you can share the recording directly within a Teams channel. Upload the video to the Files tab of a channel where the external user has access. After the meeting, you can share the recording link directly with external users. Ensure that the permissions are set so that anyone with the link can view the recording.

This leaves me with several questions:

    1. How can I confirm external users are added as guests in my Teams environment?
    2. How can I confirm a Teams channel grants external users access?
    3. How can I upload the video to the Files tab of a Teams channel?
    4. How can I ensure that permissions are set to anyone can view the recording?

    Bonus question:

    1. Is there any way to also include the Copilot summary (not just the video)?

    Best regards,

    Jerry

    Dear Greg Moore - DS,

Good day! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. We will be happy to help you.

Yes, you can share meeting recaps and recordings with users on another tenant.

Upload the recording to SharePoint or OneDrive and generate a shareable link. You can then share this link with external users. If your organization uses Microsoft Stream, you can upload the recording there and share it with external users by entering their email addresses in the sharing dialog box.

    • Open Teams and choose the recording.
    • Select “Open in Microsoft Stream” from the ellipsis (…).
    • Click the “Share” button under the video player.
    • Enter the email addresses of external users in the sharing dialog box.
    • Customize permissions for each user – view or edit – and click “Send”.
    • This method stands out for its simplicity and effectiveness.

If the external users are added as guests in your Teams environment, you can share the recording directly within a Teams channel. Upload the video to the Files tab of a channel where the external user has access. After the meeting, you can share the recording link directly with external users. Ensure that the permissions are set so that anyone with the link can view the recording.

These methods should help ensure that both your consulting team and your clients can access the meeting recaps and recordings, even if they are on different tenants.

I hope the information helps! If you have any more questions or need further assistance or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.
