TV connectivity for webcam via USB + PC via HDMI hosting Teams

SONY TV Android doesn't support Teams only Zoom and Google Duo through native apps.

We wish to use the TV as a panel for larger meetings with webcam mounted atop TV.

PC hosts Teams session and is connected to TV also over HDMI (with Ethernet support).

Big ask perhaps but obviously hardware not the obstacle since Zoom and Duo manage.

Any iseas/workarounds appreciated.

    Dear Alex Sell (alex.sell),

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, I understand that you have a solid setup already. Here are a few workarounds to help you use your SONY TV for Microsoft Teams meetings:

    1. Using screen Mirroring/Casting:
      • You can cast your PC screen to the TV using a Chromecast device. This will mirror your Teams meeting on the TV.
      • If your TV supports Miracast, you can wirelessly mirror your PC screen to the TV.
    2. Since your PC is already connected to the TV via HDMI, you can simply extend or duplicate your PC screen to the TV. This way, the TV will display the Teams meeting while the PC handles the processing.
    3. Using a Webcam with TV:
      • Connect a USB webcam directly to your TV if it has a USB port. Some smart TVs can recognize webcams and use them with apps like Zoom or Google Duo.
      • If your TV only has HDMI inputs, you can use an HDMI adapter to connect a USB webcam.
    4. Consider using a dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms device. These are designed for conference rooms and can connect to your TV and other peripherals, Microsoft Teams enabled devices.

By using these methods, you can effectively use your SONY TV as a panel for larger Teams meetings. If you need more detailed steps for any of these solutions, feel free to ask!

Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can find a solution together. Thank you for your help.
