Thanks Katherine, but i cannot locate " show message preview" within the notification setting. after i click notifications, there are only options of 1)notify me on mobile for; 2) set channel notifications; 3) set meeting notifications; 4) block notifications; 5) alert. None of them have the option of show message preview.

    Dear WLHK_852,

    Thanks again for your response!

To better understand the issue, I’d like to confirm a couple of things on your device’s system settings (outside the Teams app). Specifically, could you please check and, if possible, share a screenshot of the following two areas:

    1. Settings > Apps > Teams > Notifications
    2. Settings > Lock screen > Notifications

This will help me see whether message previews or lock screen content might be restricted by your device settings.

Also, could you let me know the make and model of your device, along with the operating system version (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S22 with Android 13, or iPhone 14 with iOS 17)? That way, I can provide more accurate, step-by-step guidance tailored to your phone.

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Best regards,

    Dear WLHK_852,
Thank you for reaching out. Let me help you troubleshoot this.
This issue is usually caused by notification or privacy settings. Here are steps you can try to restore the usual message preview:

Step 1: Check Notification Settings in Teams App
1 Open the Microsoft Teams app on your mobile device.
2 Tap your profile picture (top left) > Notifications
3 Ensure that “Show message preview” is turned ON

Step 2: Check System Notification Settings (Android or iOS)
    For Android:
1 Go to Settings > Apps > Teams > Notifications
2 Make sure “Show notifications” is enabled.
3 Under Message notifications, ensure pop-ups and previews are allowed.
    For iPhone/iOS:
1 Go to Settings > Notifications > Teams
2 Make sure Allow Notifications is enabled.
3 Enable Show Previews and set it to Always

Step 3: Disable “Protect content” on Android (if applicable)
If you're on Android, some devices have an option to hide sensitive content:
1 Go to Settings > Lock Screen > Notifications
2 Ensure the setting is not set to “Hide content” or “Sensitive content only”

Step 4: Sign Out and Back into the Teams App
Sometimes resetting the session can help:
    1 Open the Teams app.
2 Go to your profile > Settings > Sign out
3 Sign back in with your account.

Step 5: Reinstall the Teams App
If the issue persists, try reinstalling the app:

1 Uninstall the Microsoft Teams app from your device.

    2 Restart your phone.

3 Reinstall the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

4 Sign in again and check if the notification preview works as expected.

If after these steps your notifications still don’t show previews, please let me know your device model and OS version (Android or iOS), and I’d be happy to assist further.
    Best regards,
