Dear Microsoft Teams Support,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance regarding an issue with the Fireflies AI note-taker bot in my Microsoft Teams environment. Despite removing the bot from the app, it continues to automatically join my meetings and webinars as a participant, which I am unable to prevent.

Here are the details of the issue:

  • Bot Name: Fireflies AI Note-Taker
  • Issue: The bot still appears as a participant in meetings even after uninstalling it from Microsoft Teams.
  • Steps Taken: I have removed the bot from the Teams app, but it continues to join scheduled meetings.

I would appreciate your guidance on how to completely remove or disable the Fireflies AI note-taker bot from my Microsoft Teams account to prevent it from joining any future meetings.

Hello, I have contacted Fireflies support. They mentioned to login to their site and delete my account.

    So far so good!

To remove Fireflies from your Microsoft Teams meetings, you can go to the Fireflies.ai settings page by visiting https://app.fireflies.ai/settings. Once there, scroll to the bottom and click on the delete button to disconnect Fireflies.ai from all your meetings. This should ensure that Fireflies no longer appears in your Teams meetings. If you have already blocked Fireflies as an admin in the Teams app and it still shows up, make sure to check if there are any remaining permissions or integrations that need to be revoked. If the issue persists, you might want to review any additional settings within your Microsoft Teams admin center to ensure Fireflies is fully removed.

    Hi,

I have done the same steps, but it did not stop the bot to join every meeting. After contacting the firelies.ai support, they told me to instruct our involved users to sign in with the MS account to their site, and delete their own accounts from there.

I agree with the people who stated before me that the management of accounts and data should not be on a third party site, and administrators blocking the application and revoking consent from Entra should also deactivate all services and delete the data.

if there is setting for teams, the setting should be in teams not in some random company app settings.

    Hi Aparupa Jena

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

I am truly sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Based on the description, I understand that you would like to stop the Fireflies AI note-taker bot from auto-joining your meetings and webinars even after you have removed the bot from your Teams app.

To completely remove and block the Fireflies AI bot, please kindly check the Teams admin center - Teams app - Manage apps page. (Please be advised that Teams admin permission is required.)

    • Search the app name on the righthand side's search box - select the app - select Block

    • Select the app name - the app status is changed to Blocked Image

As the Fireflies AI app is a third-party app, for further assistance, I kindly request you to contact the Firefly support direct.

Your kind understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Roger Shen

    Hi Roger,

Thank you for your reply. However, I was unable to complete the steps to block the Fireflies AI Notetaker. Unfortunately, I cannot share my personal email IDs here, but if you could assist in blocking the bot from the linked email accounts, I would greatly appreciate it.

I’ve already tried all the removal methods previously, but the bot continues to join all my webinars and meetings as a participant. It’s quite frustrating and embarrassing.

    Thank you for your support
