Hello Team,

I am missing the drop down as circled in the attached photo.
I do have the most recent TEAMS version.

Can you please advise on why this could be missing and/or where I can find the "add a new section" option if this drop down is missing.

Thank you!

Chat Sections are lately disappearing randomly. Reverted to only Pinned and Recent.

Also randomly reverting back to my sections.

    Very annoying.

Chat Sections have disappeared (again), and are not restored by usual troubleshooting. Reverted to only Pinned and Recent.

Restarting the Teams app restored Sections after previous occurrences (including Feb 5, Feb 6, and several times since).

This time, have: restarted the app, rebooted, signed out and in, reset the app from system settings, deleted cache file.

    Desktop app:

    Version
You have Microsoft Teams version 25044.2208.3471.2155.
You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 3/20/2025.

I have precisely the same issue - individuals within my organisation on the same teams version can see the sections options, i cannot. We are not permitted to enable the preview version. Is this being rolled out to individuals differently in the same organisation?

    Hello NK UC,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft community.

From your description, I understand that you are having issues with new section option missing in your Teams application.

To better understand and narrow down the problem, please help us share more details about this problem by answering the following questions. Thanks in advance.

    1. Can you please share with me the screenshot of the option you have when you try to add a new section (the screenshot you shared is not visible)?
    2. May I know the Teams version you are using?
    3. Are you experiencing the same behavior when you log into Teams on the web (Open your browser and sign into Microsoft Teams and test)?

If you are experiencing the same behavior even on Teams web, as this feature is under preview (The new chat and channels experience in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support), please check if you have option to enable preview feature in your Teams settings, got 3 dots (top right corner) > Settings > About > enable public preview.

If Early access section is not available for you, please check with your admin (How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support), so they can update your Teams update policy under Teams Admin center > Teams > Teams Update Policy, so they can give you access to public preview feature. your admin can follow: Public preview in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

Note that the feature will begin rolling out for general public (Worldwide) late March 2025 and expect to complete by early April 2025.

If you need any further clarification, or your admin need further guidance in giving you access, please let me know by responding to this thread.

I look forward to your response to this. Please note that our first response does not always resolve the issue immediately. Only with your help and more detailed information can we find a solution. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
