Does it work with CVI? Is there a setting that needs to be toggled on? Or is this only possible for Webex Meetings?

    DearĀ Fauzia Moorani,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

No, currently Cisco Webex browser sharing (share.webex.com) functionality is not directly supported within Microsoft Teams meetings when using a Cisco Room Device. This means you cannot use a Cisco Room Device to share content directly from a Webex browser session into a Teams meeting.

Here's a breakdown of the limitations and alternative options:

    • Cisco Room devices are designed for seamless integration with Cisco Webex Meetings. They prioritize features and functionalities optimized for the Webex platform.
    • Sharing content from external platforms like Webex directly within Teams meetings using Cisco Room Devices is not currently supported.

Alternatives for Content Sharing in Teams Meetings with Cisco Room Devices:

    1. You can leverage the built-in content sharing capabilities of Cisco Room Devices. This allows you to share your screen, applications, or documents directly from your device connected to the Cisco Room Device (e.g., laptop, tablet).
    2. If your content is stored in a cloud storage service like OneDrive, SharePoint, or Dropbox, you can integrate those services with your Teams meeting and share the files directly from the cloud.
    3. While Webex browser sharing isn't directly supported, Microsoft Teams allows integrating certain third-party apps. Explore if there are any approved third-party content sharing apps available within Teams that might suit your needs. Refer to Microsoft documentation for details on supported third-party apps.

Having CVI enabled on your Cisco Room Device shouldn't affect content sharing functionalities within Teams meetings. CVI primarily focuses on enabling interoperability between Cisco video conferencing systems and other platforms like Microsoft Teams.

While directly sharing from a Webex browser session isn't possible, there are alternative content sharing methods available within Teams meetings using Cisco Room Devices. Explore the options mentioned above to find the most suitable approach for your needs.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Please keep in mind that our initial reaction may not always resolve the issue right away. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your cooperation.
