Dear RepublicsFury,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand the inconvenience caused by the disappearance of the calendar view toggle button (between Agenda view and Day view) in the Teams mobile app. This change has been acknowledged by Microsoft and is affecting many users.
From late 2023 to early 2024, numerous users reported that the calendar view toggle button disappeared after Teams app updates. This is not an individual bug but a result of Microsoft rolling out a “new calendar experience” aimed at unifying the Teams and Outlook calendars. In this new interface:
- The Agenda view is now the default, and switching to Day view is no longer supported on mobile devices.
- Microsoft has not provided an option to re-enable the toggle button on mobile, and this change was not clearly mentioned in the update notes, which has caused confusion for many users.
Microsoft began rolling out the new calendar experience in late 2023, but it was not applied to all users at once. Instead, it’s being deployed in phases by user groups, devices, or organizations, possibly based on:
- Account type (personal vs. business)
- Operating system (iOS vs. Android)
- Geographic region
- Organization’s device management policies
- Participation in the Teams Public Preview program
Therefore, it’s possible that you or your organization were only recently included in the rollout group, leading to the recent disappearance of the calendar view toggle, even though others may have experienced it earlier.
Here are some steps you can take:
- Use the Outlook Mobile app: Teams calendar is synced with Outlook, so you can use the Outlook app to view your calendar in Day or Grid view.
- Access Teams via browser: Visit https://teams.microsoft.com on your mobile browser and switch to desktop mode for an alternative experience (though it may not be optimized).
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you.
