    Hello,

I apologize for the late reply. When you open an email from someone we recognize on Facebook or Twitter, we show you their public name and profile picture from Facebook or Twitter and might suggest that you friend them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter. For Facebook, we can recognize a profile for any email that is associated with a publicly searchable account. We’re able to recognize people on Twitter when they’ve associated their Twitter account with an email address from a Microsoft service (@live.com, for example), and their Twitter settings allow their account to be found by that email address.

It could be that somebody (has a name like yours) has registered account in Facebook and was detected by Outlook.com and recognize the relationship because you have the same name.

If you think that this somebody is using your name or impersonating you, please contact Facebook support to settle the issue.

    Thank you.

    Hi hur06,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community forum.

Let me help you with your concern with regard on that Facebook picture that appears on your emails. By the way, is your Facebook connected to your Outlook.com account?

We are currently getting same issues like this and let’s work together in fixing this issue. As an initial troubleshooting step I advise you to disable the 3^rd^ party contents. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Click the Gear icon beside your name located at the upper right corner your Outlook.com interface.
    2. Click More mail settings.
    3. Under Reading email, click Content from third-party networks.
    4. Under Showing public content, click Don't show public content from third-party networks.
    5. Click Save.
    6. Sign out and sign in again to your account.

If your Facebook is link to your Outlook.com account it would be best to unlink your account.

    1. Sign in with your Microsoft account at http://profile.live.com
    2. Click Manage on the left part of your profile page.
    3. Click Edit under the Facebook icon.
    4. Click Remove this connection completely at the bottom part of the page.
    5. Click Remove on the dialog box that will appear.

Feel free to reply back to this post if you have questions.

    Thank you.

    Hi Peter

Thank you for your advice, however this hasn't worked.

What is really annoying is that I don't even have a Facebook account!

Forum Moderators are still trying to assist with my issue.

    Regards

    Chris

    Hi,

The problem is it has linked someone else facebook account to my email, I therefore can't remove it as it's not my facebook account to make changes with.
