Dears in Microsoft Team

My email was hacked today and hacker, who sent messages to all my contacts, and during the hacking process I received  the  following messages on my alternative email  and mobile

1-

It looks like you added some security info to your Microsoft account (Removed for privacy):

Phone number: (Removed for privacy)

You can use this info to reset your password if you forget it.

2-

Your Microsoft account has been renamed. We just wanted to check with you that it's okay.

    -  Old account name: (Removed for privacy)

    -  New account name: (Removed for privacy)

If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.

If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:

  1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset
  2. Rename your account by going to https://account.live.com/

Thanks,

The Microsoft account team

Note: the third last character was changed form a to e

3-

It looks like you added some security info to your Microsoft account(Removed for privacy):

Alternate email address: (Removed for privacy)

I reported this to Microsoft and finally managed to get my account back and to change  the necessary credentials , secret questions  and language ;  however I am still  accessing my email using the new account code / Elias   : (Removed for privacy) ,

I tried to sign in using the original one which was renamed by the hacker, but the system keeps giving me the following message “That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different email address or get a new account.”

Can you please help me to sign in again in using my email (Removed for privacy) in HTTPS mode

Please Help

Thanks & regards

Rami

When an account is renamed, the old address becomes an alias.

To remove your alias, follow the steps below:

    1. Go to https://account.live.com.
    2. Click Notifications then Manage email preferences.
    3. Under Other email addresses, click Remove below the Alias you want to remove.
    4. Click Remove.

The old address is now available for renaming the account.

    Hi RamiManasra,

Since you renamed your account again to @outlook.com domain, you cannot rename back to your original email address. You can rename your account back to the original email address after 6 months. Currently, you can still send and receive emails using your original email address.

After 6 months, you need to remove your old email address as an alias to your current email address and wait for 30 days so that it will be available on our system to use. In this period, you cannot send and receive emails using the original email address. To remove your alias, follow the steps below:

    1. Go to https://account.live.com.
    2. Click Notifications then Manage email preferences.
    3. Under Other email addresses, click Remove below the Alias you want to remove.
    4. Click Remove.

    Thanks,

    Judith
