Hi CandaceManning,

Welcome to Microsoft Community!

I understand that your account was hacked and the default language settings for your account has been changed. If you want to set your account language back to English language, please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Copy and paste the link below in your browser's address bar.

https://blu158.mail.live.com/P.mvc#!/mail/options.aspx?subsection=12&n=556230082

  1. Select the language you want to use.
  2. Click Save.

Also, change the password of your account immediately to make sure that the hijacker/hacker will not access your account once again. Refer to the steps below:

  1. To change your Hotmail password, sign in to https://account.live.com.
  2. Select the Change option next to Password. Or if you want a direct link, you can go directly to theChange Password Page.

In addition, kindly check your alternate email in Hotmail account overview. It’s possible that the hacker/hijacker made some changes on your security information. Kindly follow the steps below on how to do this:

  1. Sign in to https://account.live.com.
  2. On Account overview page, click Manage button under your Account Security. ****3. Under Manage security info, kindly double check your alternate email address if it’s your valid alternate email address.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

Thank you,

Alix Xedjhidee
