When i click on export it only gives me Microsoft exchange or windows mail.  There is nothing that says or lets you type in comma separated values (.CSV).

In the CSV Export window click browse and select the Desktop folder.

Thanks,

Laurie

    Hi Laurie,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Let me make sure I understand the issue, you want to export your contacts from Windows Live Mail to Outlook.com, is this correct? If so, then please be informed that you have to export first your contacts to a local folder in your computer before importing them to Outlook.com. To do this, please follow the steps below:

To export contacts in Windows Live Mail:

    1. Open Windows Live Mail.
    2. Press Ctrl + 3.
    3. Click on Export located in the Ribbon toolbar.
    4. Choose Comma separated values (.CSV).
    5. Type any file name in the box provided then click Browse...
    6. Choose the location you want then click Save.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Tick the checkboxes of the fields you wish to export.
    9. Click Finish.

Afterwhich, you may then import the saved .csv file in your Outlook.com account. To do this, kindly follow these steps:

    1. Login to https://people.live.com.
    2. Click Import from file.
    3. Under Step 2, choose Microsoft Outlook (using CSV).
    4. Under Step 3, click Browse...
    5. Open the .csv file.
    6. Click Import contacts.

If the steps I provided did not help or if you are referring to something else, please don't hesitate to post back.

    Thank you.

    Hi Camille,

i must be crazy.  I began the process all over again after I logged in and out like you said.  Made a new file and went to the website etc.  Now it says I have two sets of contacts that successfully went to Outlook 10.  Must have gone to the ozone.

What could I possibly be doing wrong?  So close yet so far.

    Laurie

    Hello,

The first section of steps worked fine.  Saved the files on desktop.

Even saw them all listed on the website on the next step.  Followed those instructions, but they did not go to Outlook.

Any additiona advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Laurie
