Hotmail didn't support the name format FirstInitial-dot-MiddleInitial-dot-Lastname-at-Hotmail-dot-com.  Will Outlook.com support that name format so *** is a valid e-mail address?

Your email address can contain only letters, numbers, periods (.), hyphens (-), and underscores (_). It can't contain special characters, accented letters, or letters outside the Latin alphabet.

    Hi,

To help you with your concern, please provide additional details by answering the following:

    • Are you trying to create an email address with that format?
    • Are you successful in creating the email address? If not, please provide us with the exact error message that appeared.

As far as I know, @hotmail, @Live and @outlook.com support the user name format that you said. I have an email address with that format and i don't have any issues using it.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the info.  In the near future, I plan to set up a new account using Outlook.com and adding an address in Hotmail using the format with two dots to the left of the @ to replace my current address, which gets too much spam.  If it matters, Verizon (my primary ISP) didn't allow that format of First.M.Last-at-Verizon-dot-net (you supply the @ and .) a few years ago.
