Hello,

I had downloaded a file saved as a compressed zip folder on a Windows 11 laptop and copied it on a USB like below.

I now want to open this file (compressed zip folder) from this USB on a new Windows 10 laptop. When I do so, I see the following error

I right click on the file > Properties and see the following

When I click the details button, I see the user with which the file was saved to the USB on the original laptop

Is that why I cannot open it? If so, I really need to access it now. Can you please help?
This is basic file transfer work which worked on Windows for decades.

Thansk,
Prem

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are issues related to access .zip from USB drive.

There can be several reasons for this issue.

    1. File Corruption : This is a major reason why your Zip files are proving difficult to open. A particular corruption that stops the opening of Zip files is the header corruption.
    2. Virus Infections : If your Zip file is stored in an external storage device and the device gets damaged from exposure to such hazards as magnetic fields, dangerously high temperature, or even mechanical shock, it can affect the contents of the drive, including the Zip file in it
    3. Try to use any other Un zip software.
    4. Disable any Antivirus program or Windows firewall you may have for temporary purpose.
    5. Try to attach different USB drive.
