how to increase the contrast of text in outlook.com

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to increase the font contrast in the latest outlook.com interface. I have been a Hotmail user since '98 and I haven't had an issue to distinguish between new and old emails until we were forced to use outlook.com just recently. is there a way to change the current default look to use different colors? The light grey and blue are really hard to read, I need something more stand out-ish to determine the difference. I read a post that it is possible to change the theme, that  would change the font as well, but I guess not in this version.  Is it a problem using google chrome as the default browser, or is the ability of changing the font just limited to IE. I am on Vista so I cant go further that IE10. Any way to go back to the Hotmail interface?

Thanks

Stephen

Hi Mike,

To change the font colors or contrast, you may consider changing the theme of Outlook.com. To change the theme, please follow the steps below. We also included screenshots for your reference.

  1. Once you're logged in to Outlook.com, click on the gear icon at the upper right corner of the page.

  1. From the menu, select Change theme.

  1. From the list of themes, select your preferred one. Each theme has a corresponding effect on the contrast and color of the fonts.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

This was not helpful ... state specifically where to go in the Hotmail settings to change the font/colors/contrast so that a person can actually read the words, see the click boxes and differentiate between the screens.
