Getting Error [0x80070005-0x0004dc-0x000524] when trying to send from my own mailbox.

This error appears to be only associated with trying to send from mailboxes other than your own but I am currently getting it with my own profile.  I am using Outlook 2016.  I had added an additional account to my Outlook to double check the password (it was a service account).  It worked as expected.  I then removed the service account using the standard dialog.  It was deleted as expected.  At that point I noticed I was getting the above error when trying to send emails.  I have deleted and rebuilt my profile as well as deleted and reinstalled Outlook without success.  I am able to send emails from OWA and my Exchange admins can send emails when they login to my account.  Can someone try to point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

    Hi Scott,

Does the error message look like this?

If yes, when yousend your emails, make sure you’re not using the deleted account.

If the “From” address is your primary address instead of the additional account, I’d like to know if it’s a shared mailbox or a normal mailbox. Since this issue did not happen to OWA, you may try running an Online repair.

    Regards,

    Rick

    Hi Scott,

I will test it later and consult our relevant team if needed. Once I get any updates, I will post back.

My version is 16.0.7571.7095 on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.

Switching the cache mode just makes the error appear in a popup prior to the email being sent.

The deleted account was configured via Exchange on the same domain as my standard account.

    Hi Scott,

That’s really strange. To narrow down this issue, I’d like to confirm the following information:

    1. The detailed version of your Outlook client (e.g. 16.0.7369.2115) and OS.
    2. Change to Online mode to see if this issue persists. More information, see this article:  Turn on Cached Exchange Mode
    3. How do you configure the deleted account, via Exchange or IMAP/POP protocol?

    Regards,

    Rick

The account I was trying to verify no longer shows in the From field.  The only values are my standard address and 'Other Email Address'.  And again, I completely rebuilt my profile and even deleted my office install and reinstalled.  The online repair functionality is not available in my environment but the onsite repair function does not fix this issue.
