Outlook calendar Hindu dates

Just tried to add the Hindu calendar dates on my Microsoft Outlook. It had an option to add holiday calendar's by country and by religions dates, they had all the main world's religions on there, apart from Hinduism!!

Considering there is around 1 Billion Hindu's in the world, I think Microsoft are being bit #Hinduphobic. Its even more disappointing as the current chief executive officer (CEO) of Microsoft is Satya Nadella, who is a Hindu.

Can you please add the Hindu calendar or explain the inequality.

    Thank you for your involvement.

I cannot say Im a good fully practising Hindu, so its not so much about the religious aspect of my point, it the inequality and shere disregard for the Hindu faith.

Microsoft outlook have included all the other religions but not Hinduism, why?? It would be better not to include any of the religion.

The problem is Hindus by their nature and teaching are very passive.

    Hi Andree,

I know how to add and delete the calendar events, that's not the problem.

The problem is the inequality of disregarding Hinduism from the the list of calendars. You "Microsoft" has all the other large religions of the world listed but NOT Hinduism. Not sure how clear i can be regards to my enquiry.

I will add my suggestion to the suggestion page that you have given me, but as there are over 1 billion Hindu, I believe you should put a bit of urgency, and not leave it to me. Its shows the lack of respect.

    Hello Ma,

    Thank you for your reply.

I am aware of how to enter the individual dates for events. My question is why is there no Hindu calendar option, there are other religious faiths calendar options, so why the bias against Hindus.

    Let me explain :

    Open Outlook calendar

     - Open Outlook options

      -Choose Calendar tab

       -look down to Calendar options

-click on Add holidays to the calendar "Add holidays"

You will see all the countries listed, including all the major religions of the world, but not Hindu.

So either not have any religious options or put the Hindu calendars in. If you need help creating a Hindu calender, I can put you in touch with number of Hindu scholars.

    RA

    Rajesh23z,

I also, have tried to find the Hindu holiday calendar to sync with Windows calendar.

I am not Hindu; however, I am very interested in attaining a greater understanding. I wanted to have the holidays as a catalyst to investigate and understand their purpose and meaning.

I was disappointed to find that it was unavailable.

Though I may not embrace the philosophy and tenets of a religion, I believe that any religion, especially one with approximately 1 billion followers, should not be discounted.

I wanted to add my voice to your concern. I will also make a request on the suggestion page.

Thank you for bringing this oversight to Microsoft's attention and the opportunity to add my voice to yours.

    Namaste
