I have an email account with the University of South Africa that I can access. Last week tried to access my Unisa email and ended up on an Office 365 page

and I was asked to confirm my user name and password after doing it

i was told that both were not recognized

then wanted me to complete a form

so see i could actually rescue my email account

the form had some questions that i could not answer

and at the end locked me out of the account

Does anyone know if this is a new Unisa thing or what?

or is it just my email

After contacting Unisa

they said everything is fine

after contacting  microsoft support

i was told that my problem was

that i need to be included in the Office 365

realm before i could get to my emails?????

confused??? yes,, totally

any ideas

    Hi A;d,

Did you go to Outlook for Web (OWA) http://portal.office.com and use your email address to log in to your mailbox successfully? If not, please show me the screenshot of the error page you saw, and double confirm with your administrator to make sure you have Exchange Online license.

If you can, may I know how you access your account before? Using Outlook PC client or Mac? If you change another computer, can you log in to your mailbox successfully? And also let me know the detailed version of your client and OS.

Furthermore, please involve your administrator and let him connect to Exchange Online via PowerShell. Here is one article for your reference:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj984289%28v=exchg.160%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Then run "get-user  xxx@**** |fl ", and then send me the screenshot of the result. The mail address xxx@**** is the one you used to log in to your mailbox.

    Best,

    Alison

    Hi A;d,

    1. Please let me know if you use Outlook to connect to your mail account. If so, please try logging in with your account via OWA: http://portal.office.com
    2. Furthermore, please send me the screenshot of that “Office 365 page” you mentioned and the related error message.
    3. Since you mentioned that you have contacted Microsoft Support, please share your Service Request number and the suffix of your mail address. To protect your privacy, I will send you a

    private message to collect them

    Thanks

    Alison

The email service is provided by your university.

Technically the requirements of accessing your account should be handled by your university.

    What you can do -

    1. Find out if your other university mates face the same problem
    2. Contact the CORRECT university support department to check on your account to verify you are correctly setup.
