Accidentally removed contact from autocomplete dropdown on Outlook Web

Hello all,

I use the outlook web application and I accidentally deleted my most frequently contacted address from my autocomplete dropdown and I can not figure out how to put it back. Now when I type my boss' name it gives all irrelevant emails to choose from.

I've done a bit of googling but nothing seems to pertain to the web platform (outlook.office.com) for my emails.

Could you point me in the right direction to restore these auto-complete options?

    Hi AVtech_UMDiscipleship,

    Thanks for the clarify.

It is a normal behavior that we cannot find out the Suggested contacts when they are deleted, since the suggested contacts are not stored in the server. Moreover, Shyamal is right, Please type the recipient's email address. If the auto-complete list feature gives you an incorrect result, please type the entire recipient email address for the normal usage. After that, you should can use the auto-complete list normally.

Please feel free to let us know if you need further help at your convenience.

    Regards,

    Rudy

Hello Rudy, As stated in my original post I accidentally clicked the "X" under the "recommended contacts" when writing in the "To" field of a new message.

This is not shown or included in the "Deleted Items" or the recovered items. It is NOT a message I'm trying to recover. It's the Auto-Complete for my contacts.

Hello Shyamal, the above just started with "However" and gave no information or solutions, almost as if there was a section of your message that was left out. Do you have any advice or solutions for how to restore names to that cache?

    Hi AVtech_UMDiscipleship,

Have you looked for them in the Delete Item folder on the OWA? If not, please do it on your side.

If they are in Delete Item folder, please right-click the contacts and then choose Move to contacts to recover them.

If they are not in Delete Items folder, please try right-clicking the Delete Items folder > choose recover delete items option > when you find them, select them and then click Recover.

    Please see:

Recover deleted items or email in Outlook Web App

If anything is misunderstanding, could you provide some screenshot about your issue for further assistance?

    Your time is appreciated.

    Regards,

    Rudy

    Hi AVtech_UMDiscipleship,

However, in Outlook Web App when you send a message, the recipients are stored in a nickname cache (known as the Auto-Complete List). The next time you start to type those names in the To, Cc, or Bcc boxes, the Auto-Complete List feature suggests names in your cache that are possible matches.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal
